Event Details

For Wine Drinkers:

You have the easy part.  Just drink some wine and tweet about it.  Easy, eh?

All you need to join in is a Cabernet Sauvignon made in California, and Twitter.  That, and Tweetdeck will make your experience easier.  As you're tasting your Cabernet, track the #CaliCabs tweets in a search column and add your two cents.  Tweet from home.  Tweet from a winery.  Tweet from a restaurant during dinner.  No matter where you're at, you're welcome to join in.

For Wineries:

No matter how many followers you have on Twitter, you'll have a chance to be seen by using the #CaliCabs hashtag in your tweets.  All wineries in California have a story to share and interesting information about each AVA.

During your time slot, share tidbits in 120 characters or less.  Better yet, invite local tweeters to come taste and tweet at your winery.  Promotional offers should be kept to a minimum, in fact, mentioning offers only once is a good idea.  This is more about education and collaboration with other wineries.

The Objective of #CaliCabs Online Tasting:

+ promote California Cabernet producers AVA's

+ promote tourism to each wine region (Valentine's Day is the following weekend)

+ send a unified message to wine drinkers on Twitter

+ Share interesting content about your respective AVA

+ Be positive and promote one another. Please leave negative remarks out!

+ Invite people from your email lists and Facebook Fans.

Format:

Thursday Feb. 11th 5-7 PST

+ 5pm - 5:30pm -  Wineries from S. California are the subject (All wineries from Paso Robles down to San Diego)  If you're drinking a wine from these AVA's share your notes.

+ 5:30pm - 6pm -  Wineries from Central California are the subject (All wineries from Monterey to Lodi).  If you're drinking a wine from these AVA's share your notes.

+ 6pm - 7pm - Wineries from N. California (All wineries from Solano to Lake County & Mendocino plus Sierra Foothills)  There are more wineries on Twitter in N. California which is why there's a longer time slot.  If you're drinking a wine from these AVA's share your notes.
